Second, there are detents on three of the knobs. Circuit boards and a battery in the control cavity. It may be a phase switch (for when both pickups are selected) but again, things are not that obvious on a bass I can tell immediately on a guitar when a phase switch is on or off. The side-by-side pair of miniswitches evidently switches each pickup to single coil mode (these are stacked humbuckers), but I'm not sure about the third switch. The third one may be a blend knob, but honestly, I don't know which is what (it's not that obvious! And I haven't opened up the control cover to replace the battery and see if I get a difference there). I'm guessing that two are bass and treble actives with active boost and cut above and below that "5" spot. All three have detents at the "5" position.
The knob closest to the bridge pickup is a volume knob, but the other three are a bit of a puzzlement. Controls are active (they may also work in a passive mode, but I'm not sure if they react the same way or do something very different in each mode). There's a pickup selector switch, obviously, and four knobs. Just wondering if anyone can sketch out a diagram of how the controls are supposed to operate on this bass.
